Breaking News Chest X Ray 6/12/26

  1. Increasing left pleural fluid and probable left basilar atelectasis with suggestion of mild edema.
  2. No discernible pneumothorax.
FINDINGS: LINES/DEVICES: Pacemaker leads are unchanged in position. There does appear to be a chest tube in place. Multiple lines overlie the patient, resulting in artifact. MEDIASTINUM AND CARDIOVASCULAR STRUCTURES: Unchanged. LUNGS: There is bandlike density within the left mid chest extending to increasing pleural-based density at blunting of the costophrenic angle. Left basilar density appears to be increased. There is interstitial prominence throughout the lungs. There is no pneumothorax identified. BONES AND SOFT TISSUES: Not significantly changed.

My sisters want my dad in Long Island but my dad wants to stay in Florida. He has lots of booked appointments with his doctors. My dad has been in the hospital since May 29th which is 3 weeks on June 12th.

How long should he go home and rest before traveling to New York?

My sisters claim all medical appointments can be done in New York which is not true. Dad needs to finish the 2nd leg on a Endovenous Laser Treatment and it’s best to use the same doctor. It’s also best to use the rehabilitation that has already been started.

These are the booked medical appointments.

  • Kenneth Fuquay Pulmonary
  • Patrick Tenbrink Urology
  • Bassam Sayegh (EVLT) Endovenous Laser Treatment
  • Nicholas Sama Trauma Services HSS
  • Adam Lee Thoracic surgeon
  • Graig Asher Cardiology
  • Dr. Smolley Pulmonary Sleep Medicine
  • UHealth Bascom Palmer eye Injection
  • Dr. Figueredo Rivas Neurology
  • Galesso, Joanna Ashley, OD eye doctor

Hospital diagnosis RSV

Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) is a common virus that typically causes mild, cold-like symptoms but can lead to severe lung infections, especially in infants, older adults, and those with weakened immune systems.

5/25/26 (Decided ER @8:11 PM)

We went dinner at Moon Thai and dad refused to get out of the car. He was on oxygen and in the safe range. Since there was a delay it caught the attention of another patron who was from NY and worked as EMT. He advised call ambulance. I replied that I can just drive to ER now.

Hospital diagnosis is HMPV

Human metapneumovirus (HMPV) is a common respiratory virus that causes cold-like symptoms such as cough, runny nose, and fever, but can lead to severe illness like pneumonia or bronchiolitis, especially in young children, the elderly, and the immunocompromised. It spreads through respiratory droplets from coughing/sneezing or by touching contaminated surfaces, and treatment is typically supportive care, as there is no specific antiviral drug or vaccine.

5/24/26 2:13 PM watching the movie “Grease”.

5/21/26 (Decided ER @ 7:58 PM)

We were are the Sports Bar having dinner and dad and I both had the onion soup. Dad, however, was not eating his main course of sea scallops which we split. I forgot my oxygen meter and left to get my meter. While I was driving back, I saw paramedic security officer Kelsey. Asked if she could check my dad’s oxygen level without calling ambulance because I was driving home just to get my meter. She checked dad and advised ER which confirms my concern and I departed quickly and advise security that I will exceed 25mph and be safe.

8:19 Arrival in ER room
9:08 Mom arrives.
11:26 Doctor says he will compare rhythm of heart before he releases.
